The volume of the Ukrainian exhibition market is rising 20 per cent a year. The rates of its growth exceed the double middle rates of the country’s economy growth. However, quality of the Ukrainian exhibition venues and organizing technologies, particular in regions, are far from the international standards.
The 2007 tendencies are: the equal expand of the scale of exhibition events and the quantity index as well. The progressive consolidation is also presented at the event market. The international representatives enter the market (for example, ITE Company - Premier Expo, the Turkish event organizers - exhibitions in fashion sphere).
By the end of 2007, 110 companies – exhibitions organizers which conduct over 550 events in 35 cities annually are working at the exhibition market of Ukraine. The largest regional organizers are: ExpoDonbass (Donetsk), The Center of Exhibition Technologies (Odessa), Galexpo (Lviv), Expocentre «Meteor» (Dnepropetrovsk). General exhibition area in Ukraine is over 400 thousands sqm of open area, over 25 thousand participation and 5,5 million visitors.
As for exhibition capacity, a few years ago 2 new exhibition centers were built in the capital of Ukraine. They are EC KievExpoPlaza and International Exhibition Center (IEC). Besides, 4 more exhibition centers are opened in Kiev; the total exhibition area in the capital is made up over 72 thousands sqm. In other regions of Ukraine, specialized exhibition centers are in Donetsk, Kharkov, Sumy and Odessa. Radmil ExpoHall was built in Kharkov this spring (6200 sqm), Lemberg exhibition center was opened in Lviv in december (6900 sqm). Today, professional exhibition venues sphere must be increased and modernized. Considering the lack of exhibition area in Ukraine, many exhibition centers will be built in future.
Development of exhibition industry directly depends on the country’s economy growth. Volume of investments into the Ukrainian exhibition industry is constantly increases, what will improve both high-quality and quantitative indexes of industry for shore.
