AMAZONE was founded in 1883 by Heinrich Dreyer. Even before 1883 the family had been involved in the manufacture of agricultural machinery.As craftsmen they produced grain cleaners and carts to order. The effects of the industrial revolution persuaded the family to move to a more economical serial production system. This was over 124 years ago. Today AMAZONE is still family owned with the fourth generation currently involved.Important milestones for the company have been; grain cleaners and potato sorters (1902), fertiliser spreaders (1915), potato harvesters (1942), seed drills (1946), manure spreaders (1947), centrifugal broadcasters (1958), pto driven tillage equipment (1967), field sprayers (1968), and amenity equipment (1971).From the beginning AMAZONE has pioneered the way.Some AMAZONE “Firsts” The first light and affordable roller fertiliser spreader (1918) and the first mounted twin disc centrifugal broadcaster (1958).
