The fair has become a notable cultural event, a platform where major issues and phenomena of our time are discussed within the context of literature. The theme for the fair is Books for life – life for books. The theme emphasises that a book is a rewarding life companion, but one which also needs a reader in order to come to life. Science, art and religion all search independently for answers to fundamental life questions which puzzle the reader.
