POWER-GEN Middle East is the largest event dedicated to the critical industry of power generation in the rapidly expanding Middle East region, and is attended by senior personnel from government organizations, project developers, project finance companies, consultants, utility companies, independent power producers, major oil operating companies and state-owned oil companies.

In the Middle East and North Africa region, expansion of the power sector is advancing at an unprecedented rate. The commencement of the GCC Grid Interconnection project has wide ranging implications for the region and beyond. The International Energy Agency forecasts the need for an additional 269 GW in the region by 2030 at a cost of $458 billion and predicts Saudi Arabia and the UAE to have the fastest growth rates in the period to 2010.
