Cleaning service in Ukraine is a rapidly developing branch of services. Gaining and retaining clients is becoming increasingly competitive, and today is mainly based on quality. Quality to a great extent it depends on the level of personnel competence (managers, craftsmen, workers).
It should be pointed out that recently much more new equipment and materials has been appearing on the Ukrainian market. This situation is directly determined by several reasons which can be called the “sales drivers”.
First of all there is a growing interest to cleaning business on the part of entrepreneurs. In an attempt to reach European living and cultural standards Ukrainian consumers started to appreciate their free time and to weigh more efficiently the balance between energy demands and labor costs and the final result of the process.
The other factor which directly influenced the growth of demand for new technologies, equipment and consumables is the desire of enterprises to renew their park. Though frequently this desire is just the consequence of the need to reduce production expenses which are the lion’s share of general expenses for entrepreneurs and do not allow to be competitive in the services market.
Though growth is still in prospect for cleaning sector of economy and this business in Ukraine is far from being saturated, already today the perspective of the branch development is obvious. Already now about 1000 cleaning companies work in the Ukrainian market. According to data from the State Committee of Statistics for January-June 2007 only in Kiev region 12768 thousand hryvnias were invested in the basic capital in the sphere of communal and individual services (sanitary services, garbage collection, waste removal etc.). At the same time in Ukraine there are increases in the level of consumption of professional dry cleaner’s and laundry services, the number of which also grows every year. But all possible niches are not filled yet – the volume of dry cleaner’s in the Ukrainian market today makes up only 20 % of the general volume of the market; such situation according to specialists may change in the near future.
The reflection of all technical and service variety of the branch, of national and world tendencies of cleaning industry is INTERNATIONAL CLEANING FORUM which has become the main meeting place for professionals of cleaning business in Ukraine.
The essential part of the Forum is its business program which has turned from a series of separate presentations and seminars into a serious event – International Cleaning Congress “MODERN CLEANING TECHNOLOGIES”. Organized with support of the World cleaning equipment suppliers association ISSA/International Sanitary Supply Association and International Institute of Care to Buildings it is aimed at study of the issues which are to be considered by cleaning equipment and professional chemistry manufacturers and suppliers, experts in professional cleaning and also representatives of community services.
The contest “Cleaning master” that successfully started in 2004 and has already turned into a bright show demonstrates cleaning equipment and exhibitors’ professionalism in action.
INTERNATIONAL CLEANING FORUM is a unique possibility for foreign exhibitors to establish and consolidate contacts with Ukrainian partners. An increased interest of foreign companies is the evidence of international recognition of economic progress of Ukraine that has been achieved on the path to formation of market principles of country’s management and integration in the world economic territory.
