International Congress of Woodworking Industry Professionals in Co-operation with FH Rosenheim (Germany)
On 24th September, 2008 the international exhibition corporation PRIMUS EXHIBITIONS GROUP will organize the third International Congress of Woodworking Industry professionals WOODWORKING TECHNOLOGIES OF THE 21st CENTURY. The Congress will be co-organized by the University of Applied Sciences (HF Rosenheim, Germany).
The Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1925, and is the oldest university giving higher education in the field of forestry. It offers a varied selection of subjects in this field and in associated sectors such as woodprocessing machinery, wood-house construction, interior finishing, and interior architecture.
Higher education in Rosenheim provides the opportunity to master such specialties as technician, sales expert, forestry engineer, and others. During globalization and internationalization, the classical learning process leading to the engineer diploma was replaced by the parallel process of receiving a Bachelor Degree and Master Degree of engineering sciences. Acquiring a Master Degree specializing as a forestry engineer or architectural engineer is not obligatory and can be carried out at the students’ will. The Rosenheim University, along with other partner institutions, offers a wide range of subjects for raising skill levels in this industry sector.
The Department of Wood Technology and Industrial Engineering has contacts with different industrial organizations and other academies, which is why this University is known not only within Germany, but outside as well. During the last 80 years more than 1000 graduates from out of 5000 work abroad.
A lot of the University’s graduates have become very famous, so that we can rightly affirm with pride that the education in alma-mater promotes prosperity in the branch as a whole.
The structure of the educational process in the fields of wood technologies and industrial engineering has been borrowed by other academies, and they have adapted it to the peculiarities of the land.
