Sport Tourism Exchange BTS has been for 16 years the most important Exchange of Europe dedicated to sports and dynamic tourism, a downright reference point in a sector which in Italy has a turnover of 6 billion euros, which was originally a market niche and has now become a downright driving force behind the development of many regions. The sports holiday is yearly equivalent to 10 million trips and 60 million overnight stays. The attention is directed on trips dedicated to sports, to play a sport both at a professional and amateur level, to watch events or following the family members who do it. But sports tourism means above all to have a dynamic holiday: a traditional stay (at a hotel, holiday village, holiday farm) which is characterized by more or less regular physical activities, such as golf, tennis, trekking, diving, equestrian sports, and much more.
Thanks to the workshops organized in the Portoghesi and Nencini halls, 180 buyers selected together with Enit, mostly foreigners, (coming from 25 countries from all continents) meet hundreds and hundreds of Italian sellers. BTS is a unique event in the European scene, also because it is the only one that takes place in a spectacular venue such as Tettuccio, the symbol of Italian thermal tradition, where the event has taken place for four consecutive years.
BTS, which boasts a well-established partnership with Regione Toscana and Terme di Montecatini, invites Italian and foreigner operators to take part in the event: the secretariat is always at their disposal for any information they might need.
BTS also has a large exhibition area, with the stands of all the major regions, sports leagues, and leading operators of Italian tourism. BTS will be happy to suggest interesting propositions to institutions and firms which want to have their own stand starting from October 2008.
