Description
The Trafalgar Centre is an Events complex similar in concept to others
around New Zealand - for example the TSB Stadium in New Plymouth or the
larger Events Centre in Wellington.
Built in 1972, opening February 1973, the venue is a multipurpose space
with a large sprung floor and permanent elevated bleacher type seating
along the sides of the event area. The main stadium can accommodate
multi sports courts at one time - for example three tennis courts, or
two basketball courts etc.
Four large rooms under the east gallery and opening out onto a large
playing field can be used for meetings, marae type accommodation,
function rooms etc.
The centre hosts sports events, trade shows, exhibitions, special events , concerts etc.
Ample car parking within the complex grounds, and a pleasant 5 minute walk to the centre of the city.
