Making Waves: Is the big brand backing of London's new boat show the future?

22 October 2007
Leading independent stockbroker Collins Stewart has put its name to one of the highest profile events in the country, not to mention one of the most desirable brands – the London Boat Show. The show, which attracts over 700 exhibitors and approximately 150,000 visitors each year, will be known as the Collins Stewart London Boat Show. Collins Stewart takes over the sponsorship helm from Schroders.

Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Joel Plasco, chief executive of Collins Stewart added: “As one of the UK’s leading wealth managers, we are proud to sponsor the Collins Stewart London Boat Show which is both a symbol of today’s vision of leisure and a chance to view and appreciate the outstanding products and equipment manufactured by the UK’s marine industry.”

The latest illustration of big brand budgets being applied to live communications is about to be realised by Whyte and Mackay whiskey's multi-million pound investment in attracting the marine community to a brand new boat show at Earls Court from 1 to 9 December.
