Make plans for the Salzburg Christmas Fair

10 October 2007
In Salzburg people usually start getting ready to the Christmas time in advance. In November the holiday decorations appear at the streets, and the colorful garlands adorn the houses and the churches. The Christmas Fair opens during these days in the historical centre of the city in a month to the Christmas. This year the event will be held from 22 November till 24 December 2007 in Austria.

Comfortable and romantic Salzburg greets people by bell ringing, which reminds about the holiday coming. The tents are being placed at the fairgrounds, where one can buy home craft products, souvenirs, Christmas tree decorations, stars, angel figures and the other Christmas articles.  The owners of big stores also work hard in order to offer the holiday presents and the other fancy knick-knacks to the fair visitors.

Besides, there keeps a smell of fried almonds and chestnuts, baked apples and ginger cookies in the air. The music and the choir singing will be also heard on Residenzplatz, near the Cathedral and the fortress Hoen Salzburg. The children and their parents are welcomed to the Christmas concerts, plays, and games, tobogganing, and of course treating.
