Event Awards 2007

10 October 2007
Celebrating a decade of excellence in the live events and exhibitions industry will reach its zenith in September when Event magazine in conjunction with Haymarket Events holds the tenth Event Awards. A year, in which the magazine looks back over ten years to applaud the entrepreneurial determination of those who stage live events and exhibitions, will culminate in an evening that both rewards and brings together two sectors that continue to have so much in common.

This is the only awards ceremony that successfully bridges the worlds of exhibitions and live events in the name of face-to-face marketing. Receiving one of these prestigious accolades raises the marketing potential of a brand, show or company and puts visitors among an elite group of Gold and Silver winners.

Event Award winners achieve this marketing objective through their day-to-day activities. A panel of judges deliberated all categories thoroughly and paid special attention to entries that show tangible results.

A Place in the Sun Live – the international property exhibition organised by Brooklands Exhibitions on behalf of Channel 4 and Freeform Productions – has seen the people behind the show named Exhibition Team of the Year in a glittering ceremony at the prestigious Event Awards 2007. Scooping the Gold Trophy in the category for the teams working behind the scenes, A Place in the Sun Live saw off stiff short listed competition in the form of the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show and the exhibition industry’s very own showpiece, International Confex.

A Place in the Sun Live was also short listed for the Best Exhibition Marketing Campaign Award, losing out only to the British International Motor Show which did an incredible job in attracting 411,000 people to London’s ExCeL last May and in so doing creating the UK’s largest consumer show by some 100,000 visitors.
