21st International Fair of construction and building materials

MEGRA FAIR is the International Fair of Construction and Building Materials which takes place in Slovenia once a year. At the MEGRA 2007 fair celebrated the 20th jubilee of building the international business relationships between suppliers of construction materials and services, investors and those, who build or search materials for new developments, reconstructions or landscaping.
The fair’ 2007 at the junction of Slovenia with Austria, Croatia and Hungary with its 18,700 square meters hosted 452 exhibitors from 21 countries who represented the whole scope of the construction industry. Besides the most prominent construction companies, also central Slovenian institutions from the field of economy, construction, protection of environment and education presented themselves in the exhibition part and by technical consultations.
The official opening of the event was attended by several prominent business and political life representatives. The fair was officially opened by the Minster for Transport, MS Božič, who pointed out in his allocution the conjuncture happening in the construction business in Slovenia, and the promising future perspectives opened by new plans for the development of traffic infrastructure. The opening of the fair was followed by the bestowal of the Pomurski sejem jubilee awards to those deserved for the development of the MEGRA fair and the awarding of the construction quality sign.
The central focus of the next 21st International Fair of Construction and Building Materials, taking place in Gornja Radgona from March 27 – 31, 2007, will be on renewable energy sources.
The event accompanying programme will offer interesting range of expert consultations besides counselling services for wide public and creative workshops for elementary school students and teachers of natural science.
