Inwetex – CIS Travel Market 2007

This year CIS Travel Trade fair is held on the 3 – 5 October under the support of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, Committee for Investments and Strategic Projects of St.Petersburg Government, Russian Union of Travel Industry, National Tourism Association, St.Petersburg Tourism and excursion enterprises employers association (ATEP).

This year in addition to the main sections, exhibition will be enlarged with SPA tourism new section that will be widely presented in the frameworks of the «SPAS-2007» specialized exhibition. High interest to the health-improving tourism, overgrowing demand for fitness-, wellness- and SPA services in the tourist market has provided the rapid development of the industry.

Each year increasingly more SPA oriented hotels and health resorts appear and the representatives of this sphere are constantly raising their incomes. Thus, the CIS TRAVEL MARKET organizers are going to enlarge the opportunities of tourist business professionals enabling them to break into the target market, to obtain complete information on the SPA market, get acquainted with offers and to meet prospects.

There will be also widely presented the cruise tourism section within the frames of CIS Travel Market. Lately the demand for cruise tourism services has been rapidly increasing. The significant aspect influencing on this choice of international tourists is the opportunity to visit Russia without entry visa on condition that a tourist is involved in the group excursion tour and the vessel stays in the port not more than 72 hours.

For St. Petersburg this segment of industry is supposed to be of current importance, since Northern Capital of Russia ranks the third in the international rating of the port cities most popular among cruise tourists along with such cities of Baltic Region as Copenhagen and Stockholm.

The main goal of CIS Travel Market is to strengthen the positive image and the promotion of St.Petersburg and the North-West Region of Russia to the world travel market, to enlarge the tourist relations with both Russian regions and foreign countries and also to develop the inbound tourism in Russia.

The Plenary session devoted to the problems of inbound and domestic tourism in Russia will take place. The main topics of discussion will draw attention to the problems of tourism industry infrastructure development, regional and city marketing, issues of ecotourism development in North-West of Russia and other significant issues of Russian tourist industry development.

The International MICE conference «MICE industry in Russia: from theory to practice» would allow to generalize gained experience and develop recommendations to the MICE industry development program in St.Petersburg and Northwest Russia which is necessary for maintenance of the international standards of the industry.
