In this celebration of Tokaj wines and folklore, grape pickers dressed in national costume ride in procession on horse-drawn carts evoking traditions of the region. An essential part of the programme is the crafts fair and fireworks display, not forgetting the chance to sample a few wines!

Organized since 1936, this festival includes the grape harvest procession and ball, “open wine cellars” programme, formal initiation into the Wine Order, and the wine queen contest. Other activities include a folk dance festival, open-air concerts, street balls, fair, fireworks, sports competitions, exhibitions and church events. This year wine exhibitions by the wineries of Tokaj-Hegyalja Region will be held on October, 5-7.
