Expo Encourages Women in Law Enforcement

27 September 2007
EL PASO, Texas -- For the first time ever, the El Paso Police Department hosted an expo to bring more women into law enforcement.

The free event at the County Coliseum had representatives from 13 different law enforcement agencies. The expo also had families in mind, by offering activities and health screenings.

Those who attended said they're glad they could bring their kids. "I wanted my daughter to see some examples of women in law enforcement,” Chistina Marenco said. “You usually see men in that role and I thought it'd be a good example to see these people." All the agencies encouraged those interested to go online and apply if they missed Saturday's event.
