Bangkok Mid Year Fair - International Gem & Jewelry Fair

02 July 2007
The Bangkok International Gem & Jewelry Fair, which will be held from July 4-8, 2007 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center has received active support and encouragement from the Royal Thai Government's Ministry of Industry's Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) and major gem and jewellery associations like the Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), The Thai Diamond Manufacturers Association (TDMA), the Thai Gem & Jewelry Manufacturers Association (TGJMA), the Chanthaburi Gem & Jewelry Association (CGA), the Jewel Fest Club and Gemopolis among others. Gemmological laboratories like the GIA, GIT, and AIGS, among others have also indicated their interest in maintaining a presence at the show.

The Bangkok International Gems & Jewelry Fair is a Delivery Show in a Cash and Carry format so that buyers can take instant delivery of their purchases making it doubly convenient for exhibitors and visitors alike.

It may be remembered that the show was originally begun to benefit mainly the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing gems and jewellery here in Thailand. The aim of the show was to give them an international platform because most of them would find exhibiting abroad prohibitively expensive and outside their budget. The Bangkok International Gems & Jewelry Fair will continue to promote Thailand as a manufacturing and trading hub with special emphasis on gemstones and the SMEs. Special attention will also be given to the high growth area of silver jewellery.
