2008 North American International Auto Show
15 January 2008
DETROIT, Jan. 11, 2008 – With the doors of Cobo Center about to open for the North American International Auto Show’s Preview Days, automakers are revealing what vehicles they will be introducing.
Show organizers expect that more than 50 concept cars and production vehicles will make their worldwide or North American debut at the show.
“We are expecting a very strong show,” said Carl Galeana, senior show chairman for the NAIAS 2008. “Of the debuts planned that we know of – and there are sure to be some surprises -- more than 75 percent are worldwide unveilings with some real blockbuster vehicles that will grab everyone's attention.”
Green in every shade will be a dominate theme of this year’s show. Automakers are displaying an array of environmentally friendly technologies, including extremely efficient gasoline motors, diesel engines, hybrids of all sorts and variations on those themes.
Sprinkled among the green vehicles will be red-hot performance cars as well. In between, automakers will unveil work trucks and new ideas for family transportation.
