CzechTourism and golf at GO and Regiontour Brno 2008

January, 10-13, 2008, Brno: CzechTourism is to hold a specialist panel discussion on the topic “The Czech Republic – The Golf Republic or Marketing the Czech Republic Abroad as a Golf Destination 2008” on Friday 11 January 2008 as part of the expert accompanying programme for the 18th International Travel Trade Fair GO and 17th International Fair of Regional Tourism REGIONTOUR at Brno Exhibition Centre.

An excellent and well-qualified panel headed by Rostislav Vondruška, Director of CzechTourism, is to meet up in the Morava Hall at the Conference Centre in Hall A. Tomáš Kulman, Business Development Manager at KPMG CR, has also confirmed his participation, and will be acquainting those taking part with the results of a statistical investigation into the number and profile of foreign golfers coming to the Czech Republic to play golf. The research was conducted by KPMG during the course of the 2007 season in co-operation with CzechTourism and golf courses in the Czech Republic.

The attendance of a foreign guest right from the “Home of Golf” St. Andrews in Scotland will be a real treat for all those taking part. Mike Woodcock works as Communications Manager for St. Andrews Links Trust. St. Andrews Links Trust was founded in 1974 by an Act of Parliament, and is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for running and maintaining the seven golf courses at the links at St. Andrews, including the famous Old Course and the new Castle Course. Mike Woodcock specialises in PR and marketing for the two courses. His speech will focus on the importance of active PR and marketing, which cannot be neglected even in the case of the most famous course in the world.

The conference programme will also focus on the marketing activities of the agency CzechTourism in the area of golf. Coordinator for golf tourism at the agency CzechTourism Helena Kopecká will be evaluating activities in the year 2007, presenting their specific results, and acquainting those attending with the agency’s golf marketing plan for the year 2008.
